Activity 7: Sunset reflections – feminism in Sudan and SA
To help us to:
- Build an understanding of the contemporary feminist movement in Sudan and South Africa, and hopefully
- Draw out lessons in terms of organisation, strategy and tactics from each other
This activity will be a facilitated discussion.
Walaa Salah and Muzan Alneel will be asked to give an account of the historic and contemporary feminist movement in Sudan. While Foundation course participants will be asked to give an account of the contemporary feminist movement in South Africa. The discussion will bring out what the issues are in each context, as well as how the respective feminist movements are organising to achieve their objectives.
